Modular prefabricated traffic islands
Our modular traffic islands is your convenient tool for quickly and efficiently installing barriers and operating columns. In addition, they also serve as physical markers for separating road traffic.
An Alphatronics traffic island consists of galvanized top and middle parts on which barriers, columns, traffic lights, etc. can be mounted.
The width of a prefab traffic island can be 600 or 800 mm, the length is unlimited.
Loop detection for vehicles
In most barrier installations, vehicle detection loops are installed in the road surface to automatically close the barrier after a vehicle has passed. The detection loop can also open the barrier automatically for outgoing traffic.
A vehicle loop detection can only be used for vehicles with sufficient metal mass and is not suitable for use at passages for cyclists and pedestrians. Here we suggest vehicle detection with photocells, laser or sonar technology.
A detection loop can be installed in combination with different types of surfaces such as; bricks, concrete or asphalt.
Photocell sensor for barriers
To protect the barrier, the photocell sensor ensures that the closing cycle is aborted when the infrared beam is interrupted.
A photocell consists of a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter sends the infrared light beam to the receiver. When this light beam is interrupted, the photocell controls an action of a system.
For example, the barrier remains open as long as the light beam is interrupted.
Laser scanner for barriers
The opening and safety sensor for barriers offers a real alternative to induction loops: time gain during installation, detection of all types of vehicles and greater adaptability.
This laser sensor for rising barriers is used to open, secure and/or detect a presence. It offers great flexibility in defining the width and depth of the detection zones (max detection field of 9.9 m x 9.9 m).
Installation of the product without any impact on the surrounding ground and unrestricted and easy definition of the detection fields.
Fixed boom support and pendulum support for barriers
A fixed barrier boom support or pendulum support is necessary from an boom length of 4 metres.
The barrier boom support or pendulum support provides support and cushioning when the barrier closes to a horizontal position.
Folding barrier skirt
Alphatronics' lower barrier skirt is an aluminum folding skirt below the barrier boom to protect against pedestrian passage.
A barrier with a barrier skirt also improves the visibility and sturdiness of your barrier.
LED signalisation for barrier booms
LED signaling is fitted on the barrier boom to increase visibility in adverse weather conditions.
The LED lights are positioned so they are visible on both sides of the barrier.
When the barrier boom is closed or moving, the LED strip will light up red. When the barrier boom is is open, the strip will light up green.
